Chris Watters was left almost speechless with pride as Royston Town advanced in the FA Cup.
The Crows had drawn 1-1 at home to Bedford Town in their first round qualifying match on Saturday.
But the replay two days later was another story entirely, Royston running out 3-0 winners to set up a second qualifying round trip to National League South Aveley on September 14.
And the Crows boss kept it simple afterwards.
Speaking on Twitter, Watters said: "The boys need so much credit for this result.
"Riddled with injuries, playing in a made up formation and they just got on with it. To a man..."
James Brighton put them ahead in the 32nd minute at Top Field in Hitchin, Bedford temporarily nomadic while work continues on their home pitch, and crucially Daniel Izekor bagged a second four minutes before half-time.
The latter would then clinch the win in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
Bedford had taken the lead at Garden Walk in game one through Ryan Blake only for Joshua Dawodu to equalise in the 40th minute.
Jesse Akubine had earlier gone close with a long-range effort that hit the bar.
Royston's women put in another strong and good performance against Watford Res in the Eastern Region Premier Division - winning 2-0.
The Crows are still one of the few teams left in the league with a 100 per cent record, and they found themselves 1-0 up in the sixth minute of the game when Emma Slater’s cool and composed shot beat the keeper.
Watford managed to keep the score the same for the remainder of the half but it became two early into the second period.
Slater turned provider for this one, Neve Mayes getting her fifth of the season.
Watford could have pulled one back after winning a penalty but goalkeeper Millie Carter guessed the right way to keep it at 2-0.
The ladies are top of the table with only St Albans City able to keep pace with them at the moment.
The two pacesetters meet on Sunday at Clarence Park.
