Royston Town kept up their strong 2024 with a hugely impressive win away to Halesowen Town.
The 3-0 success was their sixth since the turn of the year in the Southern League Premier Division Central, with only two defeats in the nine games played.
It took 26 minutes for the Crows to break the deadlock when Kian Harness ran to keep the ball in play and crossed it to Samson Esan.
He chested it down and Andronicos Georgiou slammed the ball into the net.
The former Stevenage and St Albans City man then got his second 11 minutes later.
Adam Murray was fouled in the box and with Thomas Taylor being classed as the last man, the hosts were reduced to 10.
Georgiou scored the resulting penalty.
He was denied his hat-trick in the second half when a shot hit the post but it did not stop Royston getting a third, Harness pouncing on the rebound.
The result leaves them eighth, seven points off the play-off places and with a home game against St Ives Town up next on Saturday.
Elsewhere Royston Town U23’s won 3-2 at home against Moulton with goals from Danny Baulk, Charlie Castle and debut Lucas Darby.
The Herts FA Women's Senior Cup game at Garden Walk against Harpenden Town was abandoned deep into the second half due to a nasty injury.
The score was 2-2 at the time and the match will be replayed on Sunday with the winners playing Watford in the final.
