"As many businesses supported us we encourage everyone to support the local businesses as it is vital for our community."
Mayor Cllr Rees added: "I was privileged to be invited along with my wife to the Diwali celebrations.
"We thoroughly enjoyed the food, classical dance, Bollywood performances by kids and the fellowship of the Indian community
"All those attending the event brought non perishable food items for our local food bank in Royston. This way we give back to the community for friendly coexistence."
