King James Academy in Royston welcomed 21 students from Spain to learn about each other's language and culture.

The students, from Vigo in Galicia, were paired with Year 10 ambassadors who acted as their hosts for the week and guided them through daily activities.

A school spokesperson said: "It has been fantastic to welcome our visitors. It helps to bring language learning to life.

"It has also helped King James students to better understand the world around them, and their place within it."

The visit was part of a language learning programme offered by St Neots English Centre, and saw the visitors work alongside the King James Academy students in various subjects.

Spanish student Rosario commented: "I love working with the younger students."
