A Melbourn care home resident's dreams came true with a special visit to the Imperial War Museum.
John Holroyd, a former aviation industry worker who has lived at Melbourn Springs since June, was treated to a day out at the Duxford museum, where he was able to see his favourite aeroplanes.
The trip was organised by care home staff and Mr Holroyd's wife, Kathie.
Despite living with dementia, Mr Holroyd was able to identify every aircraft in the hangar and entertained attendees with stories from his past.
Mrs Holroyd said: "I was on the verge of tears.
"It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about John that they helped him to live out a dream."
Melbourn Springs Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, who provide residential and dementia care for 75 residents.
