Plans have been submitted to the local authority for a proposed housing development in a North Herts village.
A planning application for seven houses to be built in Ashwell have been submitted to North Herts Council.
The proposed site on Green Lane forms part of a large private garden.
The developer wants to build two two-bed houses, three three-bed houses and two four-bed houses.
In a statement supporting the application, it says: "The applicant looks for the support of [the council] and residents for the proposed new development, which they believe represents a well-conceived and executed design that would contribute to the local housing needs in a positive way.
"Each home would be two storeys, set back within the plot, and of a traditional high-quality design.
"Each home will be of a unique design, which together will create a cohesive and characterful development."
All the houses in the proposed development would have a minimum of two designated parking spaces on their plot in the form of driveways and garages, with the two larger homes having three spaces.
The supporting statement says: "The development would make a significant contribution to [the council's] ongoing obligation to deliver housing and facilitate development within the wider housing market area."
