Royston Indian Society has been awarded a £500 community grant to hold a Diwali celebration next month.
The grant was awarded by Royston Town Council, and will be used to celebrate Diwali at St Mary's Church Hall in Melbourn Road from 5pm to 9pm on Saturday, November 16.
There will be "live tunes, dancing and culinary delights", with music from DJ DreamandDohl, and all members of the community are welcome.
The Indian society is holding the event to celebrate Royston's rich cultural diversity, following the success of the Navaratri festival held last year.
Mayor of Royston Cllr John Rees said: "It is great to see such an important festival being celebrated here in Royston and I look forward to taking part in the festivities."
The closing date for the next round of community grant applications is Friday, January 3 next year.

Last year Royston Town Council gave the Indian society a £450 grant for the Navaratri event, which featured traditional Garba dancing.
In April this year Royston Indian Society also gathered to celebrate Ugadi at St Mary's Church. The festival signifies the onset of spring and is the Telugu community's new year.
