Citizens Advice North Hertfordshire (CANH) invites you to our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, October 10 at 4pm at the Icknield Centre in Letchworth.

We welcome everyone to attend and learn more about the breadth and complexity of the work we do. The AGM also provides an opportunity to look ahead and discuss with us how you might be able to support our services in the future.

As an independent charity, we rely on a mix of funding sources, including grants, donations, and our own fundraising events.

This diverse funding stream ensures that we can offer impartial advice tailored to the unique needs of each client, while also maintaining our independence.

At this year's AGM, we will also be celebrating a significant milestone—our 85th birthday!

Hitchin CAB was one of the first to open at the outbreak of World War II. To explore more about our rich history over the past 85 years or to make a donation (which will be match funded by Aviva until the end of October) please visit northhertscab.org.uk/85years.

Reflecting on the year 2023/24, it has been an exceptionally busy time for CANH, with the cost-of-living crisis affecting so many in our communities.

Throughout the year, we helped around 7,000 people resolve nearly 15,000 issues. Our work generated £2 million in financial outcomes for clients, putting more money in their pockets and helping them manage debts.

Our services go beyond solving immediate issues. We aim to empower and educate, offering advice on a wide range of topics including budgeting, choosing credit, energy-saving tips, and scams awareness.

You might have seen us across the area at one of the 110 workshops and outreach events we held throughout the year.

As we look forward to the future, we are keen to explore new ways to partner with local businesses and organisations.

Corporate partnerships, whether through donations or collaborative initiatives, can significantly enhance the impact of our services.

If your organisation is looking for meaningful ways to support the community, we would love to discuss potential partnership opportunities with you.

Together, we can continue to provide essential support to the people who need it most.

Please join us on October 10 to find out more about CANH and our work. If you would like to attend, book your place by emailing: communications@nhdcab.org.uk.
