Vintage vehicles impress crowds at Meldreth Car Show

This year's show was the 19th time the event has been held, and was run by the Friends of Holy Trinity to raise money to preserve the Grade I listed church building.

The day featured an "eclectic" mix of cars and motorbikes, along with music from the Memphis Jazz Band and a low-level flypast from the last surviving WWII Lancaster Bomber.

One of the highlights of the event was a 15-tonne Foden S39 lorry, which squeezed through the gates and dwarfed all of the other vehicles.

The lorry was owned by a garage in Litlington, which has now grown into Foulger’s HVG business in Melbourn.

Proceeds will go towards Holy Trinity Church - the initial layout of which dates back to the 12th century.

The church's original features include a long chancel, aisleless nave and west tower. The tower was completed in the 13th century.

Additional elements were added in the 15th century, and the church is now partnered with the Grade II listed All Saints' Church in Melbourn.
