The list of banks which will be represented at Royston's new temporary banking hub has been announced.
The temporary hub will open later this month at Royston Town Hall, and will be open five days a week until a permanent banking hub opens.
Set up by Cash Access UK with help from Royston Town Council and North Herts Council, the hub will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions from 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
The hub also offers a 'community banker' service, where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day that their bank is in the hub.
Banks available each day are as follows:
Monday: Santander
Tuesday: NatWest
Wednesday: Barclays
Thursday: HSBC
Friday: Lloyds
While the temporary hub is up and running, Cash Access UK will continue to progress the plans for the permanent home for the banking hub.
They will provide updates over the coming months, and the temporary hub will remain open until the permanent hub opens.
Gareth Oakley, CEO of Cash Access UK, said: "With the opening of the new temporary banking hub in Royston, I am delighted to say that local residents can now enjoy access to cash and face-to-face banking services once again.
"We are working hard to secure a permanent home for the hub and will provide an update to the community soon."
A temporary hub for the town was first promised nearly a year ago, and the idea was backed by North Herts councillors for Royston, current North East Herts MP Chris Hinchliff and former MP Sir Oliver Heald.
The development of the temporary hub has also been welcomed by Mayor of Royston Cllr John Rees and Cllr Tamsin Thomas, executive member for enterprise and arts at Royston Town Council.
