The Royal British Legion Club in Royston held a fun day at the weekend to raise money and help keep the club alive.
'Royston Hero' Andy McFadyen from Newlings of Royston opened the event at the club in Mill Road on Sunday, July 28, supported by town mayor Cllr John Rees.
Visitors enjoyed a barbecue with meat donated from a town butcher, and there was also a bar and a stall selling tea, coffee and cake.
Stalls sold bespoke jewellery, home produce, soft toys, books, puzzles, memorabilia and cakes courtesy of the Royston WIs.
Children could enjoy a soft play area and there were darts and pool competitions in the Club Bar area.
Music and entertainment was provided by Royston Radio and their resident DJ Fonz Chamberlain, as well as a singer in the afternoon.
Outside there was face-painting and an ice cream van, and Royston firefighters attended with a fire engine and a stall of freebies.
Raffle tickets were sold throughout the day with prizes donated by members, the community and Royston businesses.
Club chairman Geoff Apperley thanked all those who turned out to support the fundraiser, in particular club members Nina and Micheal Jones and club staff member Eileen Kelly.
He said: "The turnout and support today was amazing. It was really encouraging to see the club full of old and new faces with people enjoying themselves.

"It made me realise that we are clearly part of the Royston community and the community and members recognise that by the effort and support they gave to make this this event happen.
"Today was a vote of confidence from the membership and the community in the future of Royston RBL Club.
"On behalf of the club, I sincerely thank everyone who was involved."
The Royston branch of the Royal British Legion works alongside the club, and is known for its Poppy Appeal work and Remembrance Day services, as well as charitable and welfare work throughout the year.
The club, in common with many hospitality venues, has faced difficulty trading recently, and proceeds from the event will be used to support their work in the future.
