The Steeple Chasers Running and Cycling Club raised more than £1,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK with the Big Step Forward.

Club members, family, friends and dogs walked a three-mile off road route on Saturday, July 13, followed by tea and homemade cakes in St Michael the Archangel Church, Litlington.

Even club members who were away took part - going on their own walks elsewhere in the country.

The group raised £1,095.71 in total for the charity, which they describe as "very close to their hearts".

Steeple Chasers are based at Steeple Morden Village Hall, and the group caters to runners, cyclists and swimmers of all abilities.

The club's website states: "Whether running, cycling or swimming with us, we want you to enjoy it and be able to meet other like-minded people along the way.

"We cater for all abilities and regularly run a Couch to 5k course for beginners, whilst also running other events to encourage more experienced runners to take part.

"Whether you want to enter events or not, the important thing for us is that you find encouragement here at the club for your own goals, whatever they may be."
