Two horses were taken to the vet after running loose on the A505 in Royston.
Police were called at around 5.25pm yesterday (Tuesday, July 2) following reports of horses running loose on the A505 carriageway.
Two horses were reported to have escaped from a horsebox.
The road was closed in both directions around the Binyon Way while officers attended the scene.
One of the horses collided with a car. No people were injured, and both horses were safely gathered before 6pm and taken to a vet for treatment.
The road closures were lifted by 7.30pm.
