Two women who have had significant roles in Royston and South Cambs - both of whom are named Mavis - recently celebrated their 90th birthdays.
Mavis Drake, who is a well-known figure in Royston and works as a tour guide in Cambridge, celebrated her birthday at Royston Golf Club on Sunday, June 30.

One of her guests was Mavis Howard, who turned 90 on Monday, June 24.
Mavis Howard is a former chair of Melbourn Parish Council, a former district councillor and co-author of The Melbourn History Book.
"It is not often that you get two ladies called Mavis in the same room," Mavis Howard said. "And even less likely that they should both be celebrating their 90th birthdays within six days of each other."
