The secondary school site at King James Academy in Royston is closed today (Monday, January 8) due to storm damage.
Last week's storm caused flooding at the main senior site teaching block, leaving it unsafe for pupils and staff.
Secondary-aged pupils and their teachers have been told to remain home while the flood damage is assessed.
A spokesperson for King James Academy said: "Damage is currently being assessed following last week’s storm, heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in senior site buildings.
"It is fortunate that the Academy had two planned training days leading up to last weekend as this meant that staff were on site to assess the damage and inform parents and carers as soon as was possible.
"Further assessment of the impact of the aftermath of Storm Henk is taking place today (Monday, January 8).
"The partial closure of our school is not made lightly, but the safety and well-being of our pupils is always our number one priority.
"We will know of any longer term impact today, and parents will be updated as to next steps at the earliest opportunity.

"Year 11 pupils will be able to return to school tomorrow, following assessments made by the senior leadership team and further evaluation of the site over the weekend.
"We will try to get all year groups back into school as soon as possible but at the moment we have limited electricity, heating and access to some buildings and the computer server and phone lines are not operational due to the water damage."
The school thanked the local community and contractors for their support.
