CCTV images have been released of a burglary in Melbourn, which has been linked to a spate of recent break-ins at businesses.

Just before midnight on Monday, July 31, two men used a metal object to break into the Co-op in High Street, while a third man waited outside.

They forced open a cash drawer but found nothing, and made off empty handed.

One man was wearing black clothing, a face mask and blue gloves. The second man was also dressed in dark clothes but with white socks.

It is not known what vehicle they used, but the break-in is also being linked to four other burglaries involving a white Ford Focus ST.

Also on July 31, at around 3.30am, three men set fire to a gas cannister at a garage in Wisbech Road, Littleport, in an attempt to remove an ATM from a wall.

On July 29, four men with crowbars were disturbed while attempting to enter a Spar in High Street, Sawston. The men left the scene empty handed in a Ford Focus.

Shortly before 1am, the Co-op in North Street, Burwell, was targeted, and a window was smashed and items stolen.
