Royston Photographic Society marked the end of the 2022/2023 season with an open competition - inviting members to showcase their best pictures.

The winning photo this month was Tim Somervell's 'Kestrel', closely followed by Martin Johnson's 'Large Skipper Nectaring on a Thistle' and Kirk Ritchie's 'Tiger Sunning Myself' in third place.

While Tim and Martin are experienced club photographers, Kirk is a new member this year.

Other club members are celebrating national honours this month. After Bob Coote's gold medal from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) last month, photographers Phil Gravett and Peter Baker have been awarded the alliance's credit award.

The society's landscape group have just completed their monthly outing - this time to Panshanger - where they dodged showers to capture scenes fresh after the rain.

Later this month the landscape group will hold a review of images, and will continue outings throughout the summer.
