Award-winning amateur dramatics group Cambridge Operatics Society is set to 'bend and snap' with Legally Blonde the Musical.

Based on the hit 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, the musical tells the story of Elle Woods - who has her pampered life planned to perfection before her boyfriend Warner dumps her at Harvard Law School.

Armed with Bruiser the dog and a killer wardrobe, Elle follows Warner to law school to win him back, but finds out she's smarter than she's given credit for, proving herself and smashing stereotypes in the process.

The production stars Kaitlin Berridge as Elle Woods, with Michael Broom as Emmett Forrest, Amelia Bass as Paulette, Hector Wheatley as Warner Huntington III and Caroline Watson as Vivienne Kensington.

Cambridge Operatic Society was established in 1910, and has enjoyed producing musicals and classical shows at the Cambridge Arts Theatre every year.

Recent productions include The Sound of Music and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

The original film of Legally Blonde, which also starred Selma Blair and Jennifer Coolidge, gained a cult following and was nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards.
