Home, I'm Darling - which won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy - is heading to the Cambridge Arts Theatre following successful runs at the National Theatre and West End.

The comedy, by Laura Wade, tells the story of one women's quest to be the perfect 1950's housewife, and asks how happily married are the happily married?

Judy and Johnny lead a perfect 50s lifestyle, with Johnny going to work while Judy stays at home.

But behind the gingham curtains, things start to unravel as the couple starts to experience financial problems, and being a domestic goddess is not as easy as it seems...

Home, I'm Darling stars BAFTA-winning actress Jessica Ransom, whose credits include Doc MartinArmstrong and Miller and Horrible Histories.

Also starring is Neil McDermott (Eastenders, The Royal) and Diane Keen (Doctors, The Cuckoo Waltz).

The play premiered at Theatr Clwyd in 2018, before transferring to the National Theatre - where it starred Katherine Parkinson as Judy.

The following year it transferred to to the Duke of York's Theatre in the West End before embarking on a UK tour. Home, I'm Darling has since enjoyed multiple UK tours and made its Australian premiere in 2020.

In a review, The Times described the play as "an amusing, affecting, inspiring evening of soft gingham and hard truths".

The Evening Standard said Home, I'm Darling "fizzes with energy", while The Independent said it was "sharp, funny and sad".

Laura Wade is an English playwright you previously wrote Posh, which tells the story of the infamous Oxford University dining society The Riot Club - a fictionalised version of The Bullingdon Club. The play was adapted into a film in 2014.

Home, I'm Darling will be performed at the Cambridge Arts Theatre from Tuesday, May 2 to Saturday, May 6.

Performances take place at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinée on the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Tickets cost either £25, £35, £40, £45, and all ticket prices include a £3 booking fee.
