Royston May Fayre is returning to Priory Memorial Gardens next month, with a 'Coronation' theme.

This year's May Fayre will take place from midday until 4.30pm on bank holiday Monday, May 1.

Schoolchildren are taking part in a Coronation crown competition, which will be judged by the Mayor.

Attendees are invited to dress in red, white and blue, and there will be children's fairground rides, bouncy castles and miniature train rides.

Other free attractions include Topper's Circus Skills, Punch & Judy, Belle's Enchanted Brushes and Professor Crump, as well as the popular novelty dog show and historic vehicle show.

There will be charity stalls and refreshments on offer - including a hog roast, hot dogs, churros, ice-cream, loaded mac n'cheese and more.

To promote sustainability, 'reuse or return' cups will be available for £1 each.

Royston Town Band will provide musical entertainment while Royston Community Radio will broadcast live to mark their official launch.

Mayor of Royston Cllr Mary Antony said: "The much-awaited May Fayre is around the corner and this year is a special one as we begin to celebrate the Coronation.

"Make sure to visit the stalls, enjoy the variety of food and drinks and have a great time."
