Community fundraising group Ashwell's Fight Against Cancer (AFAC) is hosting a night at the opera to raise money for cancer patients.

Working alongside Addenbrooke's Hospital, AFAC aims to improve patients' experience through investment in clinical facilities, supporting new technologies and therapies and investing in research.

Over the past several years the group has raised around £48,000, and is holding the opera night to ensure they reach their target of £50,000.

The event will be held at St Mary's Church, Ashwell, at 7.30pm on Saturday, March 25.

Entitled 'Oratorio to Aria', the performance features five past and present members of The Royal Opera House Chorus Covent Garden - including Ashwell's own Emily Rowley Jones.

Emily recently left the chorus of the Royal Opera House to become the proprieter of a stage school, alongside freelance performances and teaching.
