Newnham Road has been closed in both directions from the A507 to Ashwell Road due to a warehouse fire.
It follows a busy night of firefighting for Hertfordshire crews, with another large building fire in Cottered and another one in Newnham. It is not yet known if the latter is the one which has closed Newnham Road.
In a tweet, Herts Fire & Rescue wrote: “[We] have had a busy night dealing with two large building Fires - one in Cottered and one in Newnham.
“Crews from North Herts & East Herts and Broxbourne attended along with assistance from Beds Fire & Rescue, Herts police and UK Power Networks.”
